About the Film Festival
The Indian film festival of Cincinnati is the only Indian Film Festival and the largest South Asian festival in Ohio. The festival is organized in collaboration with the Cincinnati Sister cities (India) the Art Museum, the Freedom Center and other community organizations. We screen premieres of feature, documentary and short films made in and about the South Asian subcontinent or it's people. The festival is completely virtual and we will have 16 days of screenings and post-screening discussions and award ceremonies.
At the Festival watch films made by the best in Cincinnati and South Asia such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Tibet. All of our films are spoken or subtitled in English.
Our Mission: To engage diversity through Film. To bring understanding and reflection to the common human values that bind us in spite of our diversity.
Our Goal: To build an inclusive Cincinnati community and an awareness of independent Indian cinema.
Our Cause: To use a percentage of the net proceeds of our ticket sales to create scholarships that assist high school students in need to take part in the Youth Ambassador Program of the India Sister City.
The Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati aims to provide opportunities for officials, and citizens of Cincinnati to experience and explore the culture of the Indian /South Asian subcontinent through the media of film, to champion women and diverse voices in this media. The festival is charged with sharing, building and enhancing awareness of Indian culture with the citizens of Greater Cincinnati.
We thank the Cincinnati Art Museum for their support and collaboration.
Our Partners are Cincinnati Sister City, Cincinnati Art Museum, Freedom Center, Esquire Theatre, Mariemont Theatre, Kenwood Theatre.
The India Cincinnati sister city committee supports all artistic disciplines in the classical, fusion, folk and innovative forms influenced by the arts of India.
